MAREVA'S SPRING DINNER - DANCE SOON TO COME

After  the  excitement  and  resounding  success  of  the  Vancouver  2010 Winter  Olympics  , we  are  almost  at  an  "  ala  post  partum " situation . We  missed   watching  the  games  , the  line-ups , the  red  and  white  clad  bystanders   in  the  the  downtown  core , the  spontaneous  burst  of  cheers  and  singing  of " O Canada " and  the  bonding  that  took  place  around  the  city .  Much  as  we  want  it  to  continue , the  Winter  Olympics  has  come  to  an  end  on  February  28th  .

At  this  juncture , we  have  to  gather  ourselves  and  focus  on  the  next  activity  we  are  facing  :  the  next  get  together  of  Mangaldanians  of  Greater  Vancouver  and  the  close  vicinities  .The  officers  of  MAREVA   held  a  meeting  at  Uncle  Willy's  Buffet  Restaurant  on  February  7th , 2010  to  wrap   up  the  plan  for  the  MAREVA  SPRING  DINNER  DANCE  (  in  lieu  of  our  MANGALDAN  TOWN  FIESTA  )  which  will  be  held  on  APRIL  24th  . The  venue  will  be  the  newly  renovated  DELTA  BURNABY  HOTEL   (  also  known  as  the  Grand  Villa  Casino ) at  Willingdon  Avenue  and  Canada  Way .

 

The   MAREVA  officers  who  attended  the  meeting  were   Marie  Aquino  Junio , the  incumbent  Chairperson ,  Leny  Cancino  Guiang , Secretary  ,  and  the  following  members  of  the  board :  Rusty  Cervas  Miraflor  with  spouse  Briggy  , Tess  Carvajal  Marier ,  Richard (  Carding )  Pagal  with  wife  Reyna  ,  Pepe  Tan  with  wife  Mona  , Lito  Espinosa  and  wife  Estrella  and  Dom  Cendana  . The  treasurer , Angie  DeVera  Encarnacion  and  her  husband  were  not  able  to  make  it .  Board  members  Orlie  Cervas  and  Jun  Jimenez  were   also  missed  at  the  meeting  ..

Mangaldanians  who  reside  within  Metro  Vancouver  and  close  vicinities  are  most  welcome  to  attend  this  special  event  . It  will  be  a  semi-formal  affair  .  Philippine   attires  are  great  to  wear  specially  Barong  Tagalog  for  the  guys  . It  is  time  to  brush  on  our  dancing  prowess  , ladies  and  gentlemen , and  enjoy  the  music  . .

Auntie Estrella that was nice to see you unxpectedly at our house in guesang. My apology Auntie that I wasn't able to entertained you due to my visit to albolariu at that time if you have only waited we could have had at least offered u a drink.
