Many years ago , class reunions were rarities and were therefore much awaited events . Then a few years ago , classes started to get together oftener . Everybody enjoyed reconnecting with their school buddies and it is becoming a trend nowadays .
This year , two batches of Class '59 ers are celebrating a very special event , their Golden Anniversary . One is my own class in the Santo Tomas High School , now known as Santo Tomas Catholic School . The other group is the Class ' 59 ers of the Mangaldan High School , now known as Mangaldan National High School . Most of us high school graduates share much memories because most of us ( from Mangaldan ) share the same elementary graduation in 1956 at the Mangaldan Central School .
Each class will be celebrating their 50th year since high school graduation in the best way possible . We each have two days celebrating these special events with MNHS grads a week earlier than the STCS alumni .
Most of us living abroad would be joining our colleagues in Mangaldan soon , each spending some time in our own Alma Mater , to enjoy and reminisce the times we spent there for four years .
Many of us believe that our high school period was the most enjoyable and most memorable times in our lives . It was the time when we were trying to find ourselves . It was the time to bond with friends who became life-long friends . It was the time we found love ( or shall I say Puppy Love ? ) . Some have matured earlier . Some were late bloomers . But at this point in our lives , we did what we wanted to do . Few may not . Many of us had , I would say , achieved our happiness . We are successful in our own way .
Success is not only what others perceived of us but also of what we perceived of ourselves . If we had done the best we could in our chosen way of life or path which affected our family or other people in a positive way , we can say , we are successful . We don't have to do spectacular deeds or extraordinary feats to be a success .
So, my dear colleagues , I wish all of us will have many more years to enjoy each other's company . GOOD LUCK , GOOD HEALTH AND MAY GOD ' S BLESSING BE WITH US ALWAYS ..
HAPPY GOLDEN JUBILEE TO THE '59 ers , STCS AND MNHS GRADS of '59 ...
LET US ALL ENJOY EACH OTHER'S COMPANY IN MANGALDAN ! ! ! !
HERE ' S A PICTURE OF SOME OF THE STHS GRADS OF '59 . UNFORTUNATELY , I COULD NOT FIND THE PICTURE OF THE BOYS . CAN YOU RECOGNIZE THESE GIRLS FIFTY YEARS AGO ?

My dear Cecile ,
I am so happy that Ross and you took time to join us during our Hawaiian Luau . It was an honor for us to have you and our other guests during our celebration . Thank you for enjoying whatever we prepared . We are quite happy that our class ( locals and abroad ) were all excited to make the event successful and enjoyable so the preparation became a team effort .
Thanks to you , Ross , Lito and Lita for joining us . We truly enjoyed your company and the memories we shared before ( elementary years ) and the new memories we just wove with your presence .
God bless us all .

Marie,
A million thank you for inviting me and Ross to attend STHS Class'59 golden anniversary celebration. Needless to say, we truly enjoyed every minute of it and am so happy to see and meet our former classmates from elementary and first year high school who attended the occasion. You and Venus danced like real Hawaiians, even better!
Truth to tell, STHS' event is 100% better than the MNHS. Our local former classmates didn't even bother to give a part -- group singing or folk dance, inspite of our (US based '59ers) requests. I admire the cooperation showed by the STHS alumni in the form of group singing, comedy skit, Hawaiian dance (males and females), etc.
I pray to God for continued good health and long life so we can do the same again someday!
God bless and, again, thank you, Marie!
