A Special Time For Mangaldanians

Today, Mangaldan townspeople celebrate the much awaited yearly Town Fiesta . We are thousands of miles away  from  home but  we  definitely are not  forgetting  about it. We always celebrate our town  fiesta in honor of our  Patron  Saint , St . Thomas Aquinas .

The Mangaldan Group residing  in  Vancouver and  it's  vicinities  are  definitely  joining  "kabaleyans " in  the  Fiesta  celebration .. Unfortunately, we are  not  so  prepared  for  a big bash ..So , here  we are , getting  together for a luncheon in one  of the  best  Chinese  eateries  in  Vancouver . Fifty  of our  kabaleyans  joined  us.  Food  was  very  good  and  of  course  the  company  was  great ! It was a very  casual  occasion and we  took  the time off to  reconnect  with  our  kabaleyans. Most  of  us  may be living  in  the same  vicinity  but  we don't always see  each  other  due  to  the nature  of  our   jobs . Some of  us  were not  able  to  join us  for circumstances  beyond  their  control .. To  have this  special day to  be  together   was  a great  privilege .. MABUHAY , MANGALDAN ! ! !   

Between  Djoma ( De Guzman ) and I , we were able to capture  the spirit of the  occasion--the  camaraderie  among " mankakabaleyan "--with our  cameras . Thanks   to  all  the  attendees. Inspite  of  the " unstable  or  funny weather ", they  were  there  for the  "fiesta  celebration."                                                

   

Lito  Espinoza, Claire Torio Alejandria, Marie Junio, Carlito  Torio ,Ester Mejia , Estrella Mejia Espinoza and Djoma de Guzman  were the first  group to arrive .

Tess  Carvajal  Marier , the present Chairman ,  flanked by  Mona  and Marie  made a few announcements  during the dinner .   

Mangaldanians clockwise : Tom Oca , Lina Jimenez , Jhun Jimenez, Ida Jimenez Malanum  ( based in Bellingham , WA ,Venus Jimenez Dioquino , Ruben Dioquino , Marie Aquino Junio, Ray  Tan, Madonna  Tan  and Sally  Oca . They  ( in this table ) have  been around  in Canada  for  sometime  now . Shall  I say  they  are  almost  like  pioneers , except  for  Ray and  Madonna  , who were  dubbed  the "babies" at this table . 

Seated on this table ( picture below )  are  from left to right (Clockwise ) John-John Torio, Claire  Torio Alejandria , Jess  Alejandria , Joe  Boy  Torio , Rusty Cervas  Miraflor ,  Briggy Miraflor ( hidden ) , Belen Cervas  and Tyler  Cervas ..The Torios are based in Seattle, Washington .  

Table at  left sits  ( clockwise ) Pepe Tan, Ester  Mejia , Estrella Mejia Espinoza , Mona Lopez  Tan  , Tess  Carvajal Marier , Djoma  de Guzman , Richard  Mejia  and  Lito Espinoza .

Picture  on the next  table shows (counterclockwise ) Philip Fabia , Grace  Domagas  Palaganas, Andrea and Salvador Cornista, Cecille  de Vera Townsend , Michael Townsend, Mike Encarnacion , Angie de Vera Encarnacion  and  Marie Soriano  Palmani ...

The  only  young ones  ( shall I say  in their stay  in Canada  or agewise ? )  are seated  on this table : (clockwise , left to right ) Jesko  Giuang, Jonathan  Guiang , Leny Cancino  Guiang, Christian  Cadang , Marissa Limon  Cadang ,Tony  Cadang, Deo Tan , Rene Palaganas ,  little Mark Limon , and  Maria  Guiang . ( I wonder  where  Ronnie  Limon is , who  is  supposed  be  at  this   table ? )

The  Mangaldanian  Group  who celebrated  in their own way  the  traditional  Mangaldan  Town Fiesta  held  in Vancouver , B.C. Thanks  again  for  a wonderful time  with  our  Kabaleyans. And let  us  not  forget  to implore  our  Patron  Saint , St. Thomas , to  intercede for  us in  our  undertakings  specially  in  our  jobs  and  our  relationships  with  each  other ...GOD  BLESS  MANGALDAN  AND ALL OF  US  ! ! !
