Brigido ( a.k.a Briggy ) Miraflor was in his teens when Rock and Roll , Boogie and the Cha-Cha were the Teenager's dance craze . Briggy loved dancing and he became the uncrowned "King of Jam Sessions" and a great dancer among his peers and his family of 14 siblings . He married Rusty Cervas from Mangaldan and they have a daughter , Mary Grace , now a medical doctor . On October 21 , Briggy , was given a surprise party by his siblings . His sister Carmencita ( Chiching ) M. Orquiola , his brothers Cesar ( Chibong ) and Peto silently organized a gathering of family and friends to honor their brother's important milestone , his 60th birthday.
Not even his own family , Rusty and Mary Grace , were aware of the coming event .
On the night of the party , everybody who were invited gathered at St. Frances de Sales Gym to await Briggy's arrival . As his picture shows on the left , he was truly surprised at the presence of the people he was not expecting to see . His friends at the Zambales Association , the Bohol group , his former co-workers at CIBC and of course , a few representatives of our Mangaldan group were on hand to join him . Baby boomers were dressed as in the 60's , young adults were in their Mardi Gras attire and kids were in their Halloween costumes . Filipino dishes were served and music of the oldies were played . Even in his "young" age , Briggy is still a "whiz " in Boogie .
He spent the night dancing as well as hopping from one table to another greeting his friends whom he had not seen for sometime. Brother Peto and his wife, Antoinette ( Baby ) flew from California and surprised him with their presence .The Mangaldan group who were present were Pepe and Mona Tan , Orlie and Rose Cervas , Carding and Reyna Pagal , Tess C. Marier and Marie Aquino Junio . Gina C Perez and Carol C Cox , nieces of Rusty , were with their families , to surprise their "Tito Briggy ". Briggy felt like a teenager once again ...
