White Christmas in Edmonton - 2008

The Mangaldan Group of Alberta (MGA) celebrated a White Christmas in Edmonton last December 13, 2008. The event was held at the Crestwood Community Hall.

"Even the cold and chilly evening, -32 degrees C, could not stop Mangaldanians from celebrating Christmas in Edmonton, Alberta. Present at this occasion were: Rex and Wilma Carino Gray of Drayton Valley, Alberta, Carlos and Noemi Lim Licardo, Mrs. Felisa Carino and her daughter Melissa, Charlie and Mitos Senin, Salvador and Maureen Navarro, Jessie and Emily Biazaga of Anolid. Christmas in Edmonton, Alberta

The Mangaldan Group of Alberta celebrated their Christmas Party last Dec 15, 2007 at the St. John's Parish Hall in Edmonton, Alberta.

Eli Licardo did the honors of greeting the attendees. He led a short prayer before the dinner. This was followed by a Meet and Greet introduction. Every family was called up front to be introduced by Eli. We put name tags just to recognize their names for the purpose of meet and greet. It was a wonderful evening of songs, dances and games for the kids. Although many Mangaldanians did not make it to our 1st Christmas Party we expect them to attend our next upcoming event, Town Fiesta clebration on March 1, 2008.

Marife Carino is from Buenlag. Her Dad is Paterno Carino from Poblacion.

In the Penullar Family, my wife Edith is the eldest. Sonia's kids are: Kris, Kyra and Kevin. The youngest sister is Connie. In the Licardo family, Carla Mae is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Carlit Licardo, elder brother of Eli.

Raul and Myla Licardo-Lalaquit are with daughters Micah and Mikee. Albert and Jojo are relatives of Raul from Barangay Landas and they are in Edmonton as contract workers. Mrs. Rosario "Charing" Navarro is a former teacher from Banaoang. Her daughters are Mildred and Flory with their kids.

Atchi Wilma Carino-Gray and Grace are in Drayton Valley, Alberta. They could not make it because of poor driving conditions.

The Farers are from Bari: Liza and her mon, Linda. Sister Gemma is with Armando and son, Gabril. The kids had their games while the adults had their line dance.

Tom Carino & Family

Tom Carino and wife, Miriam, together with their three children: Gio, Eldon and Alea, came to visit Tom's family in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Tom is based in Guam.

Kabaleyans from Edmonton extended the welcome mat to Tom & Family.

Bong and Eva Biala join Tom and family in the Devan, Alberta Campgrounds.

Dadong Palisoc, Gil Pasalo, Oscar Dizon and Freddie give Tom a taste of campside "for the boys".

The Carino family in Edmonton treat Tom to a farewell dinner.

Mangaldanians in Alberta get organized

Finally, our kabaleyans residing in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada decided to get organized and be known as the Mangaldan Group of Alberta.

The first event of the group is the Christmas party scheduled on Saturday, Dec 15, 2007 to be held at St Charles Parish Hall, Edmonton, Alberta. Cocktails start 6pm, dinner at 7pm and dancing at 8pm.

To our Kabaleyans worldwide, Merry Christmas to all . . . and would like to invite you and join us for a buffet dinner and an evening of songs, dance and surprises to kick off the Christams season.
