From the Mangaldan National High School CLASS '48 Around the World
While I was posting this article , I received another e-mail from Atchi Ely informing me of the passing of their Class '48 valedictorian , Primo Agsaoay two days ago . He is survived by his children , Edwin and Dorothy , Eunice and Jeb , Eric and Effie , Ephraim Primo and Cheryll . He is also survived by his three sisters , Estela , Aster and Rose , grandchildren and other close relatives . His wife , the former Amparo Juguilon predeceased him . He was interned on Feb 7th at the Himlayang Pilipino Memorial Park in Tandang Sora , Quezon City .
In behalf of Mangaldanians in Vancouver I wish to convey our deepest sympathy to the families of Edward Evangelista and Primo Agsaoay . We shall remember them in our prayers .
In behalf of the FABIA and TANDOC families of Mangaldan and San Fabian, Pangasinan, I wish to extend our heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family of the late Atty. Primo Agsaoay, who was an uncle by affinity. His wife, the late Amparo "Amparing" Juguilon hailed from San Fabian and was a first cousin of my mom, Aida Tandoc Fabia who also hails from San Fabian, Pangasinan. Contrary to popular belief, Uncle Primo was from San Jacinto, Pangasinan although he finished his high school education from Mangaldan National High School as his batch's valedictorian.

Dear Anne ,
I truly feel the sadness and grief of Kuya Edward's family , not only his immediate family but his siblings and their families . Thank you for adding his siblings' names who are your Uncles . I met Kuya Edward and Atchi Irene in many occasions during my visits to California to visit my eldest sister , Lourdes , who is a very close friend and kumare of the couple .
Atchi Ely A. Bayle and Atchi Norma T. Ramat were kind enough to send me the picture I posted . They are very much concerned and connected to their classmates . They are truly a closely knit MNHS Class . I am very lucky indeed to have met the members of that class ( which includes my brother , Kuya Andrew ) during their Class'48 60th anniversary in Mangaldan two years ago .
Thanks for your comments , Anne . Keep in touch ..

Dear Atchie Marie,
Congratulations to Class 1948 on the MNHS 65th Anniversary! Thank you for extending your condolences to the family of our uncle Edward (Duarding) C. Evangelista. He was the younger brother of my beloved father Francisco C. Evangelista,Sr.(Quezon City) and older brother of Arch. Florentino C. Evangelista (Mangaldan) and Dr. Tomas C. Evangelista,M.D.(Virgin Island, USA),both alumni of MNHS. Uncle Edward and Auntie Irene came to the Philippines about four years ago when their sister Teodora (Tiay Doray)C. Evangelista passed away in Mangaldan. They had planned to come to the Philippines last December but did not push through due to his health condition already. Salamat ya balbaleg ed sikayon amin.

My dear Marie,
A million thanks for all the kind and nice words you said about us!
Eversince Ross learned that his former co-employee (Atty. Primo L. Agsaoay) was a Mangaldanian and an alumnus of MNHS, he was hoping that someday, they will be able to meet in person, most specially during the coming MNHS 65th Foundation Day! If that happens, oh, what a meeting would that be, right? After more than 40 years of having not heard and seen each other, I am sure they will have a lot of things to talk about! Unfortunately, that will not happen as a result of his untimely demise! Too sad, indeed!
Well, things really happened in this world and we cannot do anything about it and we don't know the reason as well! Only HIM knows!!!
Take care, too, and God bless you and yours!

My dear Cecile and Ross ,
Thank you for sending your comments and a short peek at Atty. Primo Agsaoay's career . I am sure his friends and his family , specially his children , would be happy to know about a part of his early start in life from somebody else's point of view , from you as his co-employee at the Caparas & Ilagan Law Office .
I am glad you wrote this special tribute to him . I met the late Atty . Agsaoay during their Class '48 reunion two years ago but I never had the chance to know more about him . Your account of your early association with him made me know him better than before .
Thank you again , Cecile and Ross for your letter ( or comments ). You are always in tune and aware with what is being written in our website . Your desire to communicate your ideas and thoughts are very commendable . I am very grateful for your interest and concern with our kabaleyans . Keep it up , my dears .
I hope you will have a great time when you attend the MNHS 65th Anniversary .
Take care ...God bless you ! !

Thank you Marie for posting Atsi Ely Bayle and Mrs. Norma Ramat's call and invitation to their formar Class 1948 classmates to attend the forthcoming MNHS 65th Foundation Day. I hereby join them and call and invite the members of Class 1959 to do the same.
Surely, this is a celebration that will only come once in the history of our beloved MNHS and, therefore, should not be missed!
My condolences and symphaties go to the families of the late Eduardo Evangelista and Atty. Primo L. Agsaoay.
Atty. Agsaoay used to be my hubby, Ross's, co-employee at the law offices of Caparas & Ilagan (who represented big corporations - Firestone Co. and Universal Textiles, among others) way back in mid-1965 until mid-1967, when he worked there as a legal secretary while studying at night at the Philippine College of Commerce. He remembers Atty. Agsaoay to be a brilliant lawyer! Ross took a lot of dictation works from him in giving his excellent legal opinions to clients. Ross still remembers that all of his written legal opinions were never been corrected by the big boss, Atty. M.A.T. Caparas!
Ross's exposure in the field of law, changed his life forever! After finishing his Bachelor of Science in Commerce, (major in Accounting; minor in Secretarial) he enrolled at the Lyceum of the Philippines, School of Law in 1969 and finished his Bachelor of Laws in 1973. The following year, he became a lawyer and practiced law after passing his Bar Examinations.
To the two lawyer sons of Atty. Primo L. Agsaoay, (may he rest in peace) please follow your late father's footsteps by continuing the tradition of excellence in the legal field.
