March 7th , 2009 was another special day for many Mangaldanians , not only in Mangaldan but more importantly in North California where the MAONCA will be celebrating the Mangaldan Town Fiesta . It has always been a much awaited annual celebration .
It was a cold day on the 7th . Guests arrived later than indicated as a result of the colder than usual temperature . The venue was the Sheraton Gateway Hotel in Burlingame . The officers of MAONCA were in full force at the entrance with their blue formal gowns .
Ditas Sarzaba , the MAONCA President gave the welcome address . Then Marilou Jue introduced the guest speaker , Marie Aquino Junio . Her speech gave an emphasis on the importance of keeping our good old Mangaldan traditions , eradicating ( and correcting ) the word " Pangalatok " which is not the proper name of our dialect . PANGASINAN OR PANGASINENSE should be emphasized as the proper name of our dialect . Most of all , we should love our dialect , Pangasinense , because it is our most important legacy from our forefathers .
The highlight of the event was the dancing of the Blue Danube by the officers and some members of MAONCA who were all in electric blue , choreographed by Patrick Basuel , son of Lani and Stephen Basuel . Out of town guests included Silverio ( Boy ) Moulic and his wife Tita , who are residents of New Jersey . Boy is the current President of the Mangaldan Association of New York/ New Jersey .

Dinner of chicken / salmon was served . After dinner was served , the program and dancing followed .

Another enjoyable town fiesta just occurred . Many wanted to stay and dance some more but it was getting late . A late heavy snack was served at an ante room of the hotel .
Congratulations to MAONCA and all the organizers of the event . Great job ! ! ! Well done ! ! ! Everybody went home feeling the fulfillment of their own nostalgia .....
