Mangaldan I Central School welcomes this year their new principal, Dr. Teresita De Guzman Cera.
The academic year 2007-2008 beacons a fresh start for the MICS as Dr. Cera takes the helm with zeal and vivacity. Dr. Cera is known to be a strict admnistrator among her peers. The word 'strict' however must be viewed in its truest sense for in her case, Dr. Cera exudes discipline and grace.
Coming from a family of teachers, Teresita Cera enrolled at the Philippine Normal College (now Philippine Normal University) to carry on the family legacy. She is the daughter of the late Leonardo Cera, former principal and the late Cristeta De Guzman.
Upon graduation, she immediately signed up for a teaching career in her native Mangaldan, first in Malabago ES then in MICS.
She took her masters degree in the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City and her doctorate degree at Lyceum Northwestern University in Dagupan City. During this time she was a scholar of SEMEO - South East Asian Ministry of Education - Regional Center.
She was Master Teacher 2 for several years until she shifted to the administrative line in 2002. She was Principal 2 for five years and she was recently promoted to Principal 3, the only Principal 3 in the entire Division of Pangasinan. She served as principal of David ES before assuming her new post in Mangaldan I Central School.
During her stint, David Elementary School was named most effective elementary school in science and math in Pangasinan Division II and a runner-up in Region I. It was also a SPED school for fast learners.
Dr. Teresita G. Cera is again full of hope and aspiration as she steps up yet to another call of her noble profession.
Abante Mangaldan!
