Atty. Ma. Paz G. Serafica (daughter of Paz Generosa and the late Atty. Luis Serafica) and her friend, Bernadet Coquia, recently ventured to the northernmost province of the Philippine country, Batanes. With limited commercial transportation to the island group, Batanes has retained its rustic and romantic ambience of nature untouched. Being the most typhoon proned province, its inhabitants, mostly descendants of the indigenous ancestors, Ivatans, have developed an adaptability to nature's occassional wrath, structuring their dwellings and livelihood to swing with the moods of the winds, while keeping a resilient and quietly dignified character.
'Toot-tot' (Ma. Paz) narrates: "Here are some pics from my Batanes trip. People thought I was crazy in going there because they have this mindset that Batanes is a very backward province and nothing to see there. I proved them wrong with these pictures. I want to go back and explore the Itbayat Island, the third island comprising Batanes and also to see the boat cemetery. Enjoy!"
