Gerardo "Dadong" Palisoc has gifted the Mangaldanians, through the Aliguas Mangaldan website, the opportunity to reconnect to those who reside in Edmonton, Alberta. Dadong celebrated his 50th birthday last June 2, 2007 at Greenwood Inn Hotel - ABC Country Restaurant. He has now sent us some pictures, including the celebration of the Philippine Indepence Day, June 12th.

Welcome, Toronto!

Another group of Mangaldan residents abroad has joined the Aliguas Family. Alex Caballero, originally from Barangay Poblacion, and now residing in Toronto, Ontario, Canada just sent in the following email and accompanying pictures:

"Kagawad Joma, siak si Alex Caballero, son of the late Kagawad Alejandro Caballero, Sr. I am now residing in Toronto, Canada with my family and five big kids now. Edwin Fabia is my nephew and the Kagawad of Mangaldan Alberto "Art" Fabia is my cousin. I remember we went to your 'pukok' somewhere in Dagupan. I was the representative of my Tatay. We enjoyed that moment.

 

I am sending some of our pictures in different occassions, some are my pictures in our 25th wedding anniversary, with Pare Momong Cadang. Some of my pictures were taken in the house of Manny Soriano of Guiguilonen. He is the brother of the late Kagawad Noli Soriano na anak nen Mamang Tinay. Also present in other picture is kuya Gary Biala, I know you knew him well.

MAONCA 2007 Potluck Picnic

The Mangaldan Association of Northern California (MAONCA) will be holding their annual potluck picnic and election of officers on Sunday, July 29, 2007 from 10am - 5pm at the Orange Memorial park located in 1 West Orange Avenue, South San Francisco, CA.

Please bring your specialty or favorite dish to share. The Association will provide the barbecue, paper plates, spoons, forks and napkins.

Video: Fiesta in Vancouver

Last March 3, 2007, the Mangaldan Residents' Group in Vancouver celebrated the hometown fiesta by coming together for a 'lauriat'-style luncheon held at Flamingo Restaurant in Vancouver. Aliguas Mangaldan co-editor Marie Aquino-Junio had posted an article on this in her site, Vancouver with Love. I took a video of the event and just only recently got the chance to edit it. So here are clips of the fiesta celebration in 3 parts. Each clip had to be at least less than 10MB or around 2 minutes long. This is the limitation of our site services. MANYJER Hosts Djoma

Several MANYJER members led by Kuya Boy Moulic hosted Djoma to an impromptu dinner held at the residence of Viring Rivera at Passaic, New Jersey last Saturday, March 17, 2007. It was a time for renewal of friendship as Djoma got to meet childhood friends Raffy Rivera, Viring Rivera and Lita Rivera-Lalicon. During the dinner, those present started discussing plans for a 2008 reunion in Mangaldan and the launching of a fund raising program in 2007 to buy medicines for a planned medical mission.
