Dear Sir Djoma and Atche Marie and Sir Djoma,

Good day po. Everyone and everything's geared towards the Mangaldan Grand Reunion in October 2009 in the US. Coordinators are assigned and updates are being uploaded regularly. Everyone's excited to join and be counted. On the other hand, with us here in the Philippines, I hope you will soon upload in Aliguas, the pictures I emailed to both of you re: the community outreach program we recently conducted to our dear kabaleyans in the 30 barangays through the "MADE FOR THIS MISSION PROGRAM - "FEEDING PROJECT", sponsored by Ms. Bonafe De Vera-Parayno and husband Melchor Parayno during their two-week vacation here in the Philippines (October 25- November 8, 2008). We were able to visit all the 30 barangays from October 28-30, 2008 through the 3-day Feeding Project and served more than 6,000 children, young and old alike of simple but nutritious arroz caldo, egg sandwiches and juice in tetra packs which they all called "Fun Chum", no matter what brand the juices were. The chicken arroz caldo were personally prepared by the barangay officials, social workers and volunteers in their respective barangays.

I hope with the Feeding Project, which is also first in the history of Mangaldan, our kabaleyans wil be be reconnected with their own barangays and barrriofoks back home and consider some worthy projects for them during the Mangaldan Grand Reunion in October 2009.

Our kabaleyans could see the happy and innocent faces of the children, the anxious look of the young mothers and the senior citizens. But of course, the Project would have not been successful without the cooperation of all the barangay captains and kagawads headed by Mangaldan Liga ng Barangay President Melchor De Guzman, at the same time Barangay captain of Buenlag, the social workers and volunteers who cooked and assisted in the preparation of the food that were served to their dear constituents and the ever-supportive (some members) STCS B'75 volunteers.

Balbaleg ya salamat.

Dear Mariel ,

Thank you for your comment and concern .

This site is for all Mangaldanians , young or old or whether they are still residing in Mangaldan or abroad . Everybody is welcome to send news or activities with pictures to be published and to be shared with our kabaleyans .

Our goal is to bridge the generation ( senior citizens , teenagers or pre-teens ) gap as well as the geographical gap . You can read my message on our Second Anniversary of the launching of our website Aliguas Mangaldan under " Vancouver With Love " dated September 25/26 ,2008 . It reiterates our goal and what we have accomplished so far . It would be a pleasure if you can share with us any article or pictures which we can publish . I would like to know more about you , too .

Keep in touch , Mariel ....

Hearty congratulations on the 2nd anniversary of "Aliguas Mangaldan". To Djoma
and Atchi Marie and the numerous correspondents: thank you for your tireless efforts at giving us snapshots of the goings-on in your area which feature Mangaldanians back home and in other parts of the globe.

Indeed, it is delightful to see pictures and read about people we know and grew up with. Hopefully, such warm feelings of nostalgia and desire to reconnect will be harnessed to bring about collective and sustained action to assist our old hometown.

And to Kuya Sil Moulic and former Mangaldan Councilman Philip Fabia, your proposal to have a Mangaldan Grand Reunion outside Mangaldan is a fabulous one. You can count on a lot of us ...

Again.....onwards to more success on your 3rd year!!!
